Chestnut Ridge Elementary

Message from Mrs. Hale - May 28, 2020

As the year winds down we have prepared a plan for the return of school items you may have at home along with the pick up of items your child has at school.  We are busy collecting and organizing the items throughout the school and these will be available for pickup during your assigned time on Monday, June 15.

Time blocks have been determined by your child’s last name as follows:

9:00-10:00  Letters A-C
10:00-11:00 Letters D-G
11:00-12:00 Letters H-L
12:00-1:00 Letters M-Q
1:00-2:00 Letters R-S
2:00-3:00 Letters T-Z

If you are unable to come during your designated time on Monday, you can also drop off/pick up items on Tuesday, June 16, from 9:00-11:30 a.m.

Most of you likely have items at home that will need to be returned to school.  This includes:

-library books
-guided reading books from the classroom
-instruments you have rented
-4th grade yellow Safety belts
-chromebooks & chargers

Bring these with you when you come to pick up your items.

Please note that we hope to have yearbooks in by the pick up date.  These will be with your child’s items if they have arrived.  Also, anyone who purchased Jungle Book tickets will receive their ticket refund when you pick up your child’s belongings.

Adults only will be allowed into the school cafeteria to drop off and retrieve items.  You must be wearing a face mask and practice social distancing throughout the process.

The staff at Chestnut Ridge is also planning an opportunity for students to see & wave to their teachers. A CRS parking lot drive through event is being planned for Thursday, June 18. The details of this event along with other pertinent information are included in a letter from me that is being  mailed to families today.

Thank you for your patience and support in your child’s learning.  Stay healthy!
