Dear Churchville-Chili Families,
Earlier today the Governor closed schools through the remainder of this school year. We understand that this is disappointing news as we were hoping to be back together soon. Our at-home learning plan will continue and teachers will continue to post learning activities and resources on their Google classroom sites. Kindergarteners will receive additional learning packets through the US postal service.
As we look forward, it is important to remain hopeful and find the bright spots in our current situation. To that end, we have a few items to share with you to make you smile. Many of our bus drivers sent in video clips to say hello, you can find the video here. We continue to receive messages from families that we are posting on the Parent Resource website under Bright Spots, this includes pictures of school celebrations across the district and highlights about our graduating seniors.
We intend to have a graduation celebration for our seniors, so please keep the weekend of June 26-28 on your calendars. In June, we will know more regarding the social distancing protocols and be able to make a final determination of the location and format for graduation. At this time we have rescheduled the senior ball to July 24 and junior prom to November 20, all pending social distancing requirements.
Grading Protocols: Please take a moment to review this information related to grading protocols, Regents Exams and course credits.
Kindergarten Registration: Kindergarten packets for eligible students were mailed out in February. If you did not receive a kindergarten registration packet in the mail and your child is eligible to attend kindergarten in September 2020, please contact the registrar at 293-1800, ext. 2041 or [email protected]

Meals: Please remember that our Nutritional Services Department will continue to provide meals to all students age 18 and younger on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday. Meals are available for pick-up at CES, CRS and the Middle School from 11 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. on these days.
Safety and wellbeing: add information for phone number, email, counselor connection
The New York State Office of Mental Health has also created an Emotional Support Hotline: 1-844-863-9314. The helpline provides free and confidential support, helping callers who are experiencing increased anxiety due to the coronavirus emergency. The Helpline is staffed by volunteers, including mental health professionals, who have received training in crisis counseling.
Bright Spots: We continue to highlight each school’s virtual events on social media and encourage you to join us. It is a great way to stay connected and share all of the good going on across our district. We will continue to highlight our students across the district. If you have a bright spot to share, please email Mrs. Puleo at [email protected]
and she will post on our website.
I continue to value your commitment to support your child’s at-home learning while still meeting all of your family’s needs. Please stay healthy and maintain appropriate social distancing practices as this is still the most important step we can take to slow the spread.
